Snow, The Tree, and The Buck!

I love Christmas time, and it is starting to feel so much like that time of year! We had a wonderful truly Minnesota/Christmas time weekend this weekend!

We started out our Saturday morning with a great breakfast out, a nice treat on a Saturday morning. After finishing our delicious meal (always better when you don't cook!) we headed to the grocery store to do our shopping. Once we finished there we picked up my mom (aka nana) as she had a mishap with her loosing her keys while at the mall. (She did find them!) The four of us then headed for our annual adventure of finding the perfect beautiful Christmas tree... by this time we had beautiful winter white coming down from the sky quite heavily! Which made everything snow covered and picture perfect! After a little trudging we found the tree for the year...a 15ft beauty!! Got it cut and loaded and headed back home.

(This is the one!! Nana is a great helper!)

(WOW!! What a pretty tree! My favorite of our 5 so far!)

We had an enjoyable time Saturday evening at Chris's Christmas Party for work. Had a wonderful dinner, and a nice time visiting with friends before venturing back out into the still falling snow and unplowed roads...thank goodness for 4-wheel drive!! Sunday morning Chris was called bright and early to plow the parking lot again...this time it took from 1:00am - 5:30am. He got home just in time to catch a few more zzz's before we all went out to plow, shovel, and play in the snow! It was Dawson's first memorable time playing in the snow, and I don't know if he totally knew what to think of it. We bundled him up so he looked like a green and black marshmellow and headed outside. He kept saying "momma...Dawson walking like old man!" it was cute (his boots are a tad big!) Before we went outside Dawson would look out the window (my neat freak son) and kept saying ...."ewww mommy mess, dirty, gross!" I had to explain that it was snow, and not a mess....well, not when it isn't in the driveway anyway :-)

After playing, and then heading in for some lunch and hot chocolate we got the tree up and in the stand before a nice and much needed afternoon nap!

Oh, the most exciting part of the weekend for Chris was when he was bow hunting! He got a very nice 10 point buck! He was walking on a cloud the rest of the day! My mighty hunter!! I think Dawson was just as proud! He has been carrying around the pictures of daddy and his buck all week!! (The Big Buck)
