Cakes, Wishes, Eggs the Kitty & More!

My baby boy is now 3 years old, 3, 3, I can hardly believe it. Seems like just days ago we brought him home from the hospital. And now he is such a little man--and he will tell you, (brace yourselves) he has a girlfriend--HALLE S____! The neighbor girl. It is pretty cute! Don't know if dad thinks so, but I do.

We had a busy birthday weekend, we did a hand's on building project at a local store. Lunch out with family, shopping for new rain boots, and then of course the parties! We separated into 2 parties. We had family over the first night--aunts, uncles grandparents, great grandparents, cousins. He had a blast, then Sunday after church and a nap we had about 30 friends over for another celebration. Even though we were busy, Dawson had so much fun--he was exhausted by the end of the weekend and so were we! He loved all the visiting, and he was very generously given very nice gifts (THANK YOU EVERYONE!). And, the highlight for him--he got his very own snowmobile! Chris, Lainey and I gave him a KITTY CAT. It is so cute, and when there was snow, it was so cute to see him ride it. He was a little scared at first, but once he was on it-there was no getting him off. He looks so grown up.

The following weekend was Easter-the blessed holiday where we are reminded about the price that was paid by our Lord and Savior for us! We had a beautiful church service, and spent time with friends and famiy enjoying the day. Dawson and Lainey each had an Easter basket-Dawson found Lainey's for her. His had boxers, stickers, gum, animal crackers and a few other goodies. Lainey's had tights, a swimsuit, a cute shirt, pink rubber ducky and some gerber puffs. Each of the kids also got an adorable rocking chair, one red, and one white. Dawson loves them, and I am sure Lainey will some day as well!

We had fun that Friday night coloring eggs. Dawson was very hands on, and messy, but did a great job and our eggs turned out beautifully!

Here are a few pictures from out busy month--I attempted making both of Dawson's birthday cakes. One is a 3-D monster truck car cake, and the other is just a plain decorated cake. Definately not pro, but it was fun to do for the first time-they were delicious, and best of all Dawson LOVED them!
